Introduction

Height Comparison is a free chart for comparing heights in centimeters and feet. You add people on your device. The chart is not saved in an account.

A shared link contains the names and heights in the address bar. Anyone who opens that link can see the same chart.

The data we collect

When you use the chart, this is what is involved:

• Names, genders, and heights you enter. They are kept in the page address on your device and in a link if you copy one. They are not written to a database.
• A light or dark theme choice, stored in local storage in your browser.
• No account, email address, or payment details are collected by the chart.
• Google Analytics records a page visit: the path, browser, and a rough location from the IP address. The chart query string is left out of that hit, so names and heights in a shared link are not sent to Google Analytics.
• The website host may keep ordinary connection logs, such as an IP address and the requested URL, to run and protect the site. A shared chart URL includes the names and heights, so those values can appear in a log when someone opens that link.

How we use your data

The browser uses the names and heights to draw the chart, convert centimeters and feet, and show the height difference. The theme setting only remembers light or dark mode on that device.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use the chart to build an advertising profile.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics may set a cookie such as _ga and receive the visit described above. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles that data.

The site does not set advertising cookies. The theme preference uses local storage, not a tracking cookie.

Data storage

There is no server copy of your chart. Closing the tab removes it unless you kept the link. Copy chart link and Compare with a friend only put the current chart into a URL you can send.

Who can see a shared chart

Treat a chart link like a note you hand to someone. It can include names and heights. Do not put secrets, passwords, or private information you would not want a recipient to see into a name.

Payments and accounts

Height Comparison is free. There is no paid plan, no billing, and no sign-in.

Content responsibility

You are responsible for the names you type. Do not use a name to harass, threaten, or publish someone else’s private information.
